About

Invasives are a trio from Vancouver BC formed in 2001 and consisting of 2 brothers Byron and Adam Slack (Vocals/Guitar/Bass) and 1 Hans Anus (Drums). The sound these fine "young" lads create is a stripped down Punk Rock devoid of cliches and Rock & Roll frippery, rebuilt and refurbished in a way that ONLY Invasives can deliver.

With their fourth full length release "Desk Job At Castle Dracula" (2010) Invasives continue to tighten their grip and explore the depths of their existence (Which by strange coincidence is identical to your existence!)...Except for the fact that they begrudgingly wrote this and you are the one pretending to read it, disregard this one inconvenient detail and YOU TOO can become "Existence Twins" with Invasives!

Invasives - Desk Job At Castle Dracula

02.18.10 - You've been patient long enough and tweeting your impatience all over the internets. Invasives' new album is nearly available for your enjoyment! It has been titled Desk Job At Castle Dracula and you can hear some of the new songs on Myspace immediately. And in this day and age, we know you want that instant gratification. The album will be available as vinyl for you physical format junkies or digital for you technology freaks. And these things will be happening very soon indeed. Don't forget to demonstrate your fan-dom at the new Invasives facebook page. It's similar to the Invasives group page, but you can never socially network enough.

01.08.10 - The new album has been completed and sent off for mastering. Invasives plan to get the artwork finalized soon as well as giving it a working title...something other than "The Crankypants Sessions Featuring Blair Calibaba's Uncle Walter". That title has also been rejected by Adam Slack, who was on a bit of a powertrip that particular day. Invasives are also planning shows in Europe in the spring as well as some Canadian dates in the summer. And once the new album is mastered, there will some new songs posted to the band's myspace page. Hell yeah!

10.22.09 - Work is nearly done on the new record with just a few overdubs and mixing left to finish! Contrary to popular rumors flying around on the various tweeter nitworks, the album will not be called A Boy and His Unicorn. Rather, the album still lacks a title. Be sure to check the show dates as a few have been added.

07.16.09 - The shows have been a blast this summer! Invasives are still doing work on their upcoming record. They are anxious to get it finished and into your grubby little hands as soon as possible. Invasives are still scheming their next visit to Europe.

05.25.09 - Invasives will be setting out for a few Canadian shows very soon with the one and only Mr. Plow. Meanwhile, recording for their next record has begun, with Hans laying some some fat, or perhaps even phat, rhythm tracks already, with guitar, bass and vocal overdubs to take place in the very near future. No release date has been set, but that seems logical since they haven't even finished recording it. Isn't just knowing they've started enough?

03.11.09 - Tour plans have been changed up a bit for Invasives. They're now busy working on at least an EP's worth of new material so that the fans can have some new tunes. As far as Canadian tour dates go, Invasives are looking towards a June excursion with Mr. Plow. Meanwhile, Adam, Hans and Byron are busy honing their chops, woodshedding and perhaps even knocking out some new tunes.

01.26.09 - You've been clamoring for it and Invasives shall deliver! Black Banana Records, run by the handsome Paddy, is reissuing The World's Gotta Go Round, with rumors swirling that it will see vinyl. Wax, as the kids say. Or is that grandpas? Meanwhile, Invasives are hoping to visit Europe this coming April and fan the flames of the fans. Afterwards, and mostly because Invasives just feel they haven't seen enough of their own country, the band intends to do some Canadian shows. New songs for an upcoming EP are in the works. You want "More", right? Yes, you do.

11.03.08 - Invasives are going to be preparing their first CD to be repressed and properly labeled as "Invasives", not that strange name that follows the band around like Tom Holliston seeking out a bottle of vino. The band is also cooking up an EP's worth of new material for consumption in 2009 as well as another European tour in April 2009 or thereabouts.

08.30.08 - Fear not, fans of Invasives. The band will be playing some shows in BC in September and are scheming up some fall and winter tour dates, perhaps with some dear drooling friends.

06.28.08 - Invasives have, er, invaded Europe for their summer tour! Be sure to check the tour dates to see if they're in your area, which seems entirely likely as they're criss-crossing the continent throughout July. Click on the tour poster to the left for a fullsize PDF version.
